18 month old Dane

Marley is quite protective of her home and family, arriving home a neighbor try's to approach Dog, Dog barks, neighbor keeps trying to talk to dog, Dog keeps barking only happy when she is approx 1 metre away, lady continues to talk down dog I go and put dog on lead I also talk to neighbors we haven't met before, constantly she continued in marleys face or space and Marley lunges it would seem nipped her nose very small sore lots of blood, what do I do??

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
