Sophie was given to me November 2016 by her previous owner that could no longer keep her. She has such a sweet face and loves to give kisses but If I pet her face and love on her longer than she wants me to her way of letting me know is jumping back snarling and barking at me.
If I make any sudden moves she comes after me-at first I thought she was just playing because her tail was wagging and it was just so strange that in a split second from being a sleep to jumping up going into the attack mode and now has progressed to biting me. Now I am afraid to pet her or loving on her little face for fear I want move fast enough to get away from her when she decides she wants no more loving.
I hate to give up on her but also I do not want to be afraid of my dog. I am thinking if she lived with someone that is a stronger pack leader than I am and she has room to run and use her herding instinct she would be a much happier dog. She also does not like other dogs to approach her or look at her. She has never bitten a dog but she snaps at them if they get to close. She loves to play with children and chase them but the nipping at them now has me afraid that this nipping might turn into biting the children.
I would love to hear any suggestions.
