Aggressive 10 year old terrier mix

Our 10 year Old male terrier mix is agressive toward our 7 month old male rottie. We have had them both since they were 7 weeks old. The aggression started about a month ago it got so bad that the terrier attacked the rottie and ended up getting his back cut pretty bad and. Ow the two cant even be in the same area without fighting.

I yave read a few places that there is no way to train out the aggression and many have suggested putting the aggressor which would be the 10 year old terrier to sleep. I have a hard time with that and just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or if putting to sleep is the best option.

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
