aggressive 8 mo old chinese pug

We have a 3 yr old Australian Sheppard. Very loving and always kind and gentle with other dogs. We got an 8 mo. Old Chinese Pug. Has been with us four days. On day 3 the pug suddenly became jealous and starts fights with Sheppard When he comes near me. Have to pull pug off him. Worry Sheppard may decide to fight back which would surely do harm to pug. How can I stop pug from doing this?

Nothing In Life Is Free

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dogs start to view you as the "pack leader." If your dogs don't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
