Aggressive 8 yr old dachshund

My dachshund is 8 yrs. old and until the last couple of months I could bathe him with no problem (once a month).
I could tell he did not like being bathed but he never tried to bite me or jump from the sink. A couple of months ago he bit me when I went to pick him up. I tried again today and I thought I was approaching a tiger.

Afterwards he comes to me like he is sorry and wants to make amends but this doesn't include letting me bathe him. He reverts back to all teeth if I try.

Nothing In Life Is Free

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
