aggressive boxer/english pointer

by Christina S.
(Bentonville,AR)

I have a 5 year old boxer/English pointer rescue I have had him 2 days and he has attacked both of my dogs twice. he attacks or growls when there is food around and when he is laying on the couch or on the bed and the other two try to walk towards the couch or the bed. I want to give this dog a chance but I need help with this behavior I know he can be taught that attacking the other dogs is not good and we can get him to do better I don't want to take him back to the shelter I have fallen in love with this dog but I cant have him attacking my other two dogs who I have had for a long time and that are my babies. I want him to be apart of this family but need help with the aggression

Nothing In Life Is Free

Nothing In Life Is Free

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
