Aggressive German pointer/pit

I have a five year old German pointer/pit bull and I have a two year old beagle/Maltese. When we brought the beagle home they did not get along it took about two months for them the be okay with each other. Recently my German pointer has tried to attack her whenever she sees her. She tries to get her by the neck. We don't know what to do. The vet told us to get rid of the pointer and nothing was going to change it. We need help

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
