Aggressive Yorkshire Terrier

by Trish
(England)

We've had our 4yr old yorkie for 2 months. Most of the time he is a joy to have, but there are times when he becomes so aggressive it is frightening. He can be sitting/lying peacefully, but then will suddenly jump up barking & trying to bite us. My husband had to have a tetanus jab because the dog bite had broken his skin.

He has been neutered. We've had him checked at the vets and he got a clean bill of health, so it's not a health issue. Please help!

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
