Barking Border Collie

by Asha

Hi there, I have a 1.5 year old Border Collie who is beautiful to almost every person and dog, he isn't aggressive with food or toys. We always take him to the park to throw the ball however twice this week he has ran up to people barking and growing at them. A lot of people walk and ride by but he has only decided to do it with 2 people and had never done it before. My husband works away 6 weeks at a time and only just left so not sure if this has anything to do with it? I tell him off but should I be doing something else? It's really embarrassing.
Thanks

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
