Biting year old pitt

My 12 month old pitt bull male (neutered) has begun to bite. We have corrected him earlier when he growls or barks aggressively. He is a sweet dog, minds well until he is off leash and running with our other two dogs, female. They all 3 have begun to run toward someone walking their dog. The male jumps up and bites at the human, not the dog. Obviously we need to keep him on the leash, but what do we do to break this behavior. I am beginning to think we need to give him up.

We got him when he was 5 months old.

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
