Catahoula/cattledog getting aggressive

A year and a half ago my girl adopted me at one of those traveling adoption places that visit big box pet stores. I knew she had been abused by since my kids were teenagers and we have always been pet owners I had no fear. you could tell she had had some training and she was very well behaved. lately she has been barking at men at the park, startling easily around other dogs and the other night actually lunged at my male neighbor. she weighs 75 lbs and is solid muscle so when she really wants to go somewhere I am helpless to stop her. I have brought in bark busters to 're-train' us but that doesn't seem to help when she has one of these episodes. in fact they seem to be escalating. I am also noticing that she appears to be very sullen all the time and isn't seeking cuddle time as much as she used to. she doesn't show any aggression towards my elderly father nor my adult son when they come over.

any ideas what I can do to help my girl?

Nothing In Life Is Free

Nothing In Life Is Free

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
