My 6 year old lab mix killed a kitten last night. This is very uncharacteristic for her. She's normally a every sweet, gentle dog. When she killed the kitten I was I another room and it just sounded like she barked at the kitten. When we walked in there the kitten was already gone. To me it looked like she went to snap on got her.with that being said do I need to worry about the dog with the kids. She's never shown any aggression until now. Is she just jealous of the kittens?jess

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
