Lunging Problem

by sara

For the most part my dog is well behaved, she is a bully breed so she is naturally hard headed. One thing we have noticed is she has a tendency to lunge at peoples faces. When she does this it more of a head butting style, her mouth is closed mouth.
She has done this to people just sitting on the couch not paying attention to her as well as to people who are bent over her petting her.
She has been to training and does very well on a leach in a controlled environment.
Is this lunging a dominance thing or could it be something else.

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
