Suddenly aggressive older male rednose

Our 8 yr old male who has never been aggressive in anyway other than showing dominance at first meet has suddenly in the last couple weeks started going after our 10 1/2 month old male pit. It is always very sudden sometimes a quick grawl before other times no warning just attack. We separate them and don't show any special treatment to any of them afterwards. What can we do to stop this problem?

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
